Booking Policy

Before You Begin:

  1. Training and Certification:

    • Complete a certified ATV or SXS safety training course before operating the vehicle.

    • Obtain the necessary licenses and permits required by local regulations.

  2. Read the Manual:

    • Familiarize yourself with the manufacturer's manual for your specific ATV or SXS model.

    • Pay attention to safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance recommendations.

  3. Inspect the Vehicle:

    • Conduct a pre-ride inspection, checking for any signs of wear, loose bolts, or fluid leaks.

    • Ensure that tires are properly inflated, brakes are functional, and all lights are working.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  1. Helmet:

    • Always wear a certified ATV/SXS helmet that fits snugly and securely.

    • Replace helmets that have been involved in a crash or show signs of damage.

  2. Protective Gear:

    • Wear protective clothing, including gloves, long sleeves, pants, over-the-ankle boots, and eye protection.

    • Consider additional safety gear such as knee and elbow pads.

Riding Techniques:

  1. Two-Person Vehicles:

    • SXS vehicles are designed for multiple passengers. Ensure that all passengers are seated properly and have their own designated seats.

    • Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended passenger capacity.

  2. Seatbelts:

    • Always wear seatbelts if your SXS is equipped with them.

    • Ensure all passengers are securely fastened in their seats.

  3. One Rider per Seat:

    • ATVs are designed for a single rider. Do not carry passengers unless the ATV is specifically designed for it.

  4. Age Restrictions:

    • Follow age restrictions and guidelines for ATV and SXS operation. Do not allow underage riders.

  5. Speed Control:

  • Adhere to posted speed limits and adjust your speed according to the terrain.

  • Avoid excessive speed, especially on unfamiliar or uneven terrain.

Terrain and Environment:

  1. Stay on Designated Trails:

    • Stick to authorized trails and areas designated for ATV and SXS use.

    • Respect private property and do not trespass.

  2. Be Mindful of Surroundings:

    • Always be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards.

    • Watch out for pedestrians, other riders, and wildlife.

  3. Avoid Alcohol and Drugs:

    • Do not operate an ATV or SXS under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

    • Substance use impairs judgment and reaction time, increasing the risk of accidents.

Emergency Preparedness:

  1. Carry a Communication Device:

    • Bring a fully charged mobile phone or a communication device in case of emergencies.

    • Inform someone of your route and expected return time.

  2. Tool Kit and First Aid:

    • Carry a basic tool kit and a first aid kit for minor repairs and injuries.

    • Know basic first aid procedures.

  3. Weather Awareness:

    • Be cautious of changing weather conditions.

    • Avoid riding in severe weather such as heavy rain or thunderstorms.

Additional Safety Tips:

  1. Group Riding:

    • If riding in a group, maintain a safe distance from other riders.

    • Establish communication signals for group movements.

  2. Downhill Descents:

    • Descend hills slowly and with caution.

    • Shift your weight backward to maintain stability.

  3. Uphill Climbs:

    • Ascend hills straight up whenever possible.

    • Distribute your weight forward to prevent tipping backward.

  4. Know Your Vehicle's Limits:

    • Respect the capabilities of your ATV or SXS and avoid pushing beyond its limits.

    • Do not attempt stunts or maneuvers beyond your skill level.

Remember, safety is paramount when operating ATVs and SXS vehicles. Always prioritize caution, adhere to regulations, and enjoy your off-road adventures responsibly.

There is one warning for each participant, on the second remark, the column manager will deploy all participants and we will return to the base, despite the fact that we did not travel the entire route without a refund.

1. Start the vehicle only with the brake clamped and when the packing (P) on the gear selector is on.
2. Make sure that the seat belts are fastened (if any) and nothing interferes with movement.
3. Move the gear selector to the (H) position for forward movement or to the (R) position for backward movement, look around again.
4. Smoothly start the pedal to turn on the gear, the vehicle will move a little and you will hear and feel that the vehicle is ready to move, start moving.
5. On high climbs or in difficult places, it is necessary to stop and switch the selector switch to the (L) and 4WD position. In no case should you drive constantly in the (L) 4WD position, you risk harming the vehicle, the approximate repair cost is 5,000 €.
6. In any situation, if something is not clear or you have any problems, just stop and stand still, the column manager will definitely come to you and solve your problem.
7. Keep an eye on the dashboard, if any lights on the instrument panel light up, immediately inform the column manager. Keep an eye on engine temperature and oil pressure. Always follow the instructions of the column manager.
8. Do not switch the selectors while driving, you risk breaking the vehicle.
9. Start moving and stop smoothly, without jerks and bumping.
10. When stopping, turn the gear selector switch to position (P) and turn off the engine by turning the key counterclockwise.
Any violation of the above rules is the first remark, if you receive a second remark, then the column manager has the right to deploy the entire column and finish the tour in advance without refund.

 

Rental Insurance policy

Vehicle insurance and indemnification of insurance risks are intended only to compensate the damage to the second party injured in an accident, the renter pays all costs at his own expense fines for parking and speeding are not covered by insurance and are paid by the renter. The minimum repair cost is from 150 euros for each defect. If the vehicle cannot be repaired, the customer pays the full cost of a new vehicle. All vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers with the ability to control speed and monitoring for overturns, tilts and tipping.

 

Age restrictions.

Scooters and ATVs (150-300cc): The minimum age is 21 years.

Advanced ATV categories above 500cc: Drivers must be at least 25 years old.

 

Driver's license.

Driver's license validity period: The driver's license must be valid for at least 12 months.

Appropriate license: Depending on the vehicle, an AM, A1 or A2 category license is required. ATVs/quad bikes can be driven with a standard automobile license.

International license: For non-Latin licenses, an international driving license is required along with the national license.

 

Rental Policy.

Minimum rental period: 1 day, rental hours for one day: 09.00 to 21.00.

ATV/Scooter groups

The allocation of models to groups depends on the season and the destination in Heraklion. Reservations are made according to the available groups at the time of booking.

 

Helmets.

The company offers a wide range of helmets of different types and sizes. Customers are advised to confirm helmet size prior to arrival. All helmets are antibacterial treated. Disposable helmet pads are available.

 

Shipping / Collection Fees.

Delivery and collection is free of charge for offices in Heraklion city.

For reservations made at Heraklion Airport, clients are shuttled to the parking lot.

For delivery to other locations in Heraklion, please contact directly.

 

Return Policy.

It is recommended to return the car during office opening hours. Returns outside office hours can be arranged with the return desk. At the return of the vehicle there is a photo-video inspection for defects or lack of any accessories or parts, if there is a shortage of anything the renter is obliged to pay for the missing parts or accessories.

 

Returns in another city.

One-way car rentals are available within Heraklion and surrounding areas, and a fee is usually charged as the vehicle needs to be returned to its original location. This fee is payable locally.

 

Roadside Assistance Service.

Alligator Rentals provides free roadside assistance in Heraklion in the event of vehicle damage. 

For immediate assistance, call the phone number listed on the rental agreement. The company guarantees prompt service to repair or replace the vehicle if necessary.

 

Cancellation Policy.

If the booking is canceled 48 hours before the expected pick-up date, the money will be refunded in full.

If the booking is canceled less than 48 hours before the car pick-up date, a fee equal to the cost of one day's rental will be charged.

In case of no-show without prior notice, the reservation will be canceled one hour after the estimated pick-up time.

Terms & Conditions

By booking a tour, you agree to the use of your data, subscribe to the newsletter and consent to notifications being sent to you on your devices. Also by booking a tour you agree that you have read the safety precautions and agree that our team is not responsible for your life or incidents that occur before, after or during the tour, you also agree that if you cause damage to the vehicle, equipment or outfit, you will be required to reimburse the lessor in full and you will be required to pay for each day of downtime of the vehicle, equipment and outfit, which averages 1,478 € (per vehicle per day) 227 € (per outfit per day) and 554 € (per technical equipment per day).

We would also like to remind you that our tours are off-road and there is a risk of getting a little dirty, we do not recommend you to bring expensive clothes and expensive things, our team is not responsible for damage to your belongings during the tour.  

MAXIMUM OF 8 PARTICIPANTS:
4 DRIVERS AND 4 PASSENGERS.
2 SxS POLARIS and 2 CFORCE 520L are used on the tours
Please note the following conditions when booking:
1-2 participants in one SxS is 1 driver and 0-1 passenger.
3-4 participants in two SxS is 2 drivers and 0-2 passengers.
5-6 participants in two SxS and one ATV is 3 drivers and 0-3 passengers.
7-8 participants in two SxS and two ATVs is 4 drivers and 0-4 passengers.

For example, if you are 4 participants and everyone wants to drive a vehicle, you would need to take a tour with 7-8 participants(That would be two Polaris Trail S 1000's and two Cforce 520L). If you are alone and you want to drive then you need to take a tour with 1-2 participants.
If you do not want to drive and want to tour as a passenger, then you need to book a tour according to the number of participants and we will provide our driver but the number of passengers should not exceed 4 participants; specify in writing beforehand if you want a tour but do not wish to drive.

Cancellation Policy 
 

Free cancellation is subject to the following conditions:
If the booking is canceled at least 15 working days before the start of the tour, the deposit will be refunded within 15 working days of the cancellation to the details provided in the refund form.
If the booking is canceled less than 15 working days in advance, the deposit will not be refunded. 
If the booking is canceled by Alligator Tours for personal or technical reasons, the deposit will be refunded in full within 30 days of notification to the customer.
The Alligator Tours team has the right to stop the tour and return all participants to the starting point if one of the participants fails to comply with our terms and conditions.
